Gathered thousands of signatures on petitions for change, e.g., joining the national push for Health Care Reform at Michael Moore’s film, “SICKO!” (June/July 2007).In concert with the Long Island Coalition for a National Health Plan, the New York State Nursing Association and other national organizations, members of the committee stood outside theaters handing out information sheets and obtaining signatures to petition Congress to pass H.R. 676, a bill that would create a national health insurance plan.
Organized regular monthly letter-writing campaigns to key elected officials on topics of concern.
